Growing up in the Midwest, no bake cookies have been a staple of life for years. You don’t have to soften the butter, pre-heat the oven, or even have a clean cookie sheet – and they’re basically idiot proof.
While a traditional no-bake cookie is made with peanut butter, I decided to swap that out for Nutella for a more chocolate-y version. Enjoy!
Nutella No Bake Cookies
1/2 cup butter (salted)
1/2 cup milk (I used skim)
1 3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup Nutella
3 cups quick cooking oats
1) In a sauce pan over medium heat, melt the butter, milk, cocoa powder, and sugar together. Bring to a boil, and boil for one minute.
2) Add in the Nutella, and mix until fully melted.
3) Remove from heat, and in a large, heatproof bowl, combine the oats and the chocolate mixture.
4) On waxed paper, set out the cookies (I’d recommend making them standard cookie size, though honestly, you can make them as big or little as you want). Let them cool at least partially before eating.
